Salem ghosts in Sarah Jessica Parker’s family tree?

News

Turns out Sarah might not be the only one to have been a witchy woman:

In “Sex and the City,” Sarah Jessica Parker bewitched the Big Apple – and as it turns out, the “Sex” siren may be descended from witches!

The New England Historic Genealogical Society researched SJP’s family tree for a new NBC show “Who Do You Think You Are?” and discovered her family line “is connected to the Salem Witch Trials of 1692,” a Society spokesman said.

Researcher Josh Taylor worked with Parker in Boston last year to trace her roots for the show that takes a peek into the family history of a number of famous faces. The genealogically inclined boldfacers include Parker’s hubby Matthew Broderick, Hollywood stars Susan Sarandon and Brooke Shields, director Spike Lee, NFL legend Emmitt Smith and former “Friends” star – and show producer – Lisa Kudrow.

“We were asked to participate in the project in terms of helping to find the family background of a number of celebrities,” said NEHGS spokesguy Rick Stockwood. “And Sarah Jessica Parker actually came to Boston to meet with Josh and he gave her some information on her connection to Massachusetts.”

Society researcher Gary Boyd Roberts traveled to NYC to film a bit on family lines of European royalty. Word is, it may have something to do with Brooke Shields. A royal descendant perhaps?

Check it out when “Who Do You Think You Are?” premieres at 8 p.m. March 5.

Parker Overcome with Grief at Death of Alexander McQueen

Interviews

Our thoughts go out with his family during this tough time :(

Sex And The City star Sarah Jessica Parker is ‘shocked and overcome with grief’ at the tragic death of her British designer friend Alexander McQueen.

Parker released a statement Thursday detailing her grief at her friend’s death at the age of just forty, “ I am shocked and overcome with grief upon learning about the untimely death of the quiet genius Alexander McQueen.

“My heart goes out to his family and all those who worked for and with him. In his atelier, his showroom, his stores and various business interests that were so rapidly growing, he was beloved. By all of them.

“He was talented well beyond his years and the seriousness and unrivaled talent which he applied to his work is in bountiful display year after year and collection after collection.

“Every single inspired, original, lofty, whimsical, stunning, brilliant and jaw dropping detail was Alexander Mcqueen. There has never been anyone like him. And there simply never will be.

“What is more devastating is that despite all his success thus far, creatively, critically and commercially, . His greatest achievements lay ahead of him. The future would be whatever he hoped to make of it.

SJP Auctions off SATC2 Premiere Tickets

News

Looks like Sarah will not be attending the Sex and the City 2 premiere, all for a good cause ;)

Sarah Jessica Parker may be missing the premiere of “Sex and the City 2″ — and it’s not because the actress is too busy or has better things to do.

Carrie Bradshaw’s alter ego has donated her tickets to the event to the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transsexual) cause in an auction for $11,000! Hollywood Life reports that the tickets were auctioned off at the Human Rights Campaign’s 9th annual gala at NYC’s Waldorf Astoria Hotel on Feb. 6.

Sarah Jessica was not the only star on hand at the event who took part in the auction. “Ugly Betty” star Michael Urie auctioned off a dinner date with himself (kisses included!). “Real Housewives of New York City” mother hen Jill Zarin and “Project Runway” mentor Tim Gunn donated a joint day of lunch and shopping to the highest bidder.

Jill was introduced as “the LGBT community’s favorite housewife” and kicked off the event by expressing her support of the cause. “I can’t stand the fact the LGBT Americans are still being treated like second class citizens,” she declared, garnering cheers and applause from the crowd.

The lucky bidder who snagged the “SATC 2″ tickets will have to wait until the Spring to check out the premiere, but we’re sure they are already planning their fabulous outfit!
